The Ofsted Teacher Wellbeing Research Report (2019) found that a positive working environment is a predictor of staff wellbeing and states that ‘Creating such an environment is one of the main ways in which we can improve well-being and enhance retention.’


We can support a variety of areas that will create a more positive working environment for your staff. Examples include: Whole school systems for promoting staff resilience, enabling a culture of wellbeing, promoting meaningful parental engagement, achieving the Wellbeing at Work Charter (Ofsted 2021), and effective deployment of support staff.

  • An opportunity to combine your knowledge of your organisation with our psychological training and experience of working in a wide range of settings.
  • Because we always look to capitalise of the existing resources and strengths within an organisation we use an approach called Appreciative Inquiry (AI) when we carry out systems level work. This is a powerful  strengths-based approach to examining and developing the best in human systems. It focuses on what is good, what is working, and what we feel passionate about. It uses those as a basis for planning and implementing change.
  • We can work with you to develop practice in areas such as; staff and/or pupil wellbeing, promoting a positive school environment (this covers aspects we would have called 'behaviour management' in the past but has an emphasis on relationships and utilising strengths), inclusive teaching and learning practices, deployment of support staff, increasing parental and/or community involvement.
  • Systems-level consultancy usually involves a combination of: professional discussions with school leaders, information gathering using appropriate resources, checklists or observations, whole staff CPD, support to answer problems and manage barriers at the implementation phase, and review. It can be a one off discussion or a combination of these activities carried out over time.
  • Initial discussion via telephone or video call exploring how we could support you at the systems level is free of charge.


Pricing for systems work varies but we charge our usual hourly/daily rate. As with all our work block bookings will result in a lower equivalent hourly rate than bookings for smaller amounts of time. We would usually agree the price with you once we understand your requirements.
